This 5-day tour, modified from our popular 7-day 'Highland Explorer Tour' will allow those visiting Scotland for a week to investigate the glories of the Highlands and have a couple of nights to enjoy the bright lights of Edinburgh or Glasgow. 

The tour described will allow you to experience some iconic Scottish places and attractions but please feel free to get in touch for a fully customised tour. 

Leaving your Edinburgh hotel we will drive north to Inverness, en route we will enjoy a beautiful forest walk in The Hermitage, visit the picturesque village of Pitlochry and drive through the Cairngorms National Park. 

Our second day we will spend exploring Inverness and the surrounding area, including the emotive Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns (made famous by Diana Gabaldon and Outlander) and Cawdor Castle with its beautiful walled gardens. 

Day 3 will see us heading over the sea to Skye. For much of the route we will be following the spectacular North Coast 500 through Torridon, Applecross and Lochcarron. 

Spending a second night on Skye allows you a full day to explore its many iconic locations. Depending on your interests you may wish to visit Kilt Rock, The Quiraing, Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point or the Cuillins. All give you a chance to wonder at Skye’s breathtaking scenery. 

On our final day we will return to Edinburgh, past Eilean Donan Castle, through the majestic landscapes of Glencoe, Glen Shiel, and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. After leaving the Highlands we will pass both Stirling Castle and the Kelpies.
